Mat work classes
9 week course starts January 30th 2010
Our mat work classes have limited places so all participants can be encouraged and corrected to perform the exercises as effectively as possible.
Pilates after work mat class – Level 1
Strengthen, balance and energise your body after a long day at the office. Level 1 Mat will teach you the Pilates fundamentals and how to apply them to exercises. You will also learn how to release tension and unwind while at the same time building your core muscles. This class is geared towards those who are new to Pilates as well as those conditioned in other disciplines. The number of participants is limited to 8. Wear loose comfortable clothing and bring a towel and clean socks.
Time: Monday 7:30pm - 8:30pm
Pilates with small apparatus – Level 2
Level 2 mat class takes you beyond the basics learned in level 1 to a more progressive and varied application of Pilates exercises. The use of small apparatus will add resistance to challenge and help you tone, strengthen and lengthen your entire body. The number of participants is limited to 8. Wear loose comfortable clothing and bring a towel and clean socks.
Time: Monday 6:15pm - 7:15pm
Pilates Mat level 1/ Post Natal Pilates
Level 1 mat class will teach you the Pilates fundamentals and how to apply them to the exercises. Post natal Pilates is geared towards new mums or women of all ages who have not exercised consistently after giving birth. You will condition your pelvic floor muscles and build up core strength. Focus on safe return to exercise, improved posture and muscle tone. Sorry, we cannot accommodate the babies. Wear loose comfortable clothing and bring a towel and clean socks.
Time: Thursday 11am - 12pm
Pilates for back care
This class will teach you the Pilates Fundamentals and how to safely apply them to modified exercises. Learn about your posture and how to care for your back. You will strengthen your core muscles and improve functional stability. This class uses a number of small apparatus and is geared for those who have a history of spinal issues and have been cleared by the doctor to exercise. Not suitable for people with acute and undiagnosed back pain. The number of participants is limited to 8. Wear loose comfortable clothing and bring a clean towel and socks.
Time: Wednesday 8am - 9am
Pilates Mat class – Classical intermediate level
Take your Pilates knowledge to the next level with this fun Pilates mat class. The intermediate repertoire will be performed with fluidity and little modifications. This class is geared towards those experienced beginners and intermediate participants. The number of participants is limited to 8. Wear loose comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat.
Time: Saturday 11am - 12pm
