Our personalised studio sessions are the best way to experience the holistic benefits of the Pilates method. You will learn literally hundreds of exercises and use the full range of specialised Pilates equipment which facilitate functional and integrated movements. Studio sessions are the most appropriate for those with special conditions.
Studio sessions can be private (one to one) or semi-private/small-group (three participants only).
To get started you will need to book for an initial consultation where we will assess your posture, learn more about your goals, health and exercise history and teach you the fundamentals and principles of the method.
For an absolute beginner we recommend a minimum of 2 private sessions, to make sure you work correctly before joining a small group setting. You and your instructor will then decide on what is the best option for you to continue your Pilates journey.
During the session you will need to wear comfortable clothes and clean socks and please bring a towel.
Programming for clients with special conditions
Chronic joint and back pain/Post-surgery/Osteoporosis/Autoimmune disorders/Breast Cancer programming
The beauty of Pilates is that each program can be adapted to suit individuals with a diversity of conditions such as orthopaedic injuries, chronic joint pain, spinal disease, post surgery and other neurological diseases. Ours instructors can design a program and liaise with your health practitioner to increase your mobility, strength, quality of movement or just ensure a safe return to your daily activities.
Pre-natal programming
Pilates exercises done on equipment are functional, safe and enjoyable during pregnancy. This workout will help you maintaining your general strength, your pelvic floor function and abdominal muscles while such big changes take place in your body.
You will not only be prepared for the demands of childbirth but also achieve your pre-pregnancy shape faster after you have the baby.
The studio work will facilitate a variety of exercises and positions that will suit all stages of pregnancy and be challenging and rewarding. Many of our clients have exercised throughout the whole pregnancy.
Post-Natal (Welcoming mums with bubs to our sessions)
At Pilates Insight studio we understand it can be difficult to find time to exercise after having a baby and we welcome new mums to bring their babies (up to 6 months) to our studio sessions at selected times on Fridays and Tuesdays am. We can also organise a baby sitter at a rate of $15/hr to mind your baby while you exercise. Please contact our friendly staff for more information.
The post-natal program is geared to help you get back to your pre-pregnancy shape. Initially we will focus on your pelvic floor muscles, safe return to exercise, improved posture and correct lifting and handling of the baby. You will gradually build up strength and stamina and we will use a cardio workout to boost your metabolism and burn extra calories while still focusing on your core strength.
Note: You must have had your 6 week post-natal check up and been cleared by your doctor to start exercising.
